· 333 Farc- Ep ex-combatants and their families in Norte de Santander benefit from 263 collective and individual productive projects approved within the framework of the implementation of the Peace with Legality policy.
The reincorporation process in the department of Norte de Santander reports 263 approved productive projects (2 collectives and 261 individuals) to benefit 333 Farc-Ep ex-combatants and their families, for a value of $ 2,763 million, of which $ 2,663 million comes from direct contributions from the National Government.
The main business ideas are include projects such as, sheep raising egg production, a buffalo production system, shops and groceries, among others, which allow the sustainability and economic growth of the family nucleus of people in the process of reincorporation who bet on life in legality.
Sebastián*, one of the beneficiaries, belonged to Farc-Ep for 10 years and today he runs his own store. This business idea started a year ago, and Sebastian hopes to turn it into a large-scale supermarket. During the process, he graduated from high school and took first aid and injection courses at the Colombian Red Cross. Later, Sebastian was admitted at the National Apprenticeship Service – SENA, studied marketing and sales and decided that this was the path he wanted for his life.
“I chose the productive project 'Tienda la Calidad' based on the experience I have had in trade, knowledge in sales and excellent customer service. The ARN has been a great moral and technical support for me to have my own supermarket, “ says Sebastián.
The ARN works jointly with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, through the Agency for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the National Government (INNpulsa Colombia) to support the 'Tienda la Calidad' initiative during the project design stage. This synergy also supported two other projects in the livestock and restaurant area.
“We are making great efforts in the region so that more people in the process of reincorporation formulate their projects with the support of the Agency, to achieve the consolidation of transformative actions in the territory," said Luis Armando Carreño, ARN Norte de Santander Coordinator.
The Agency for Reincorporation and Normalization (ARN) identified the training needs of these people in the process of reincorporation, in order to develop or strengthen skills and competencies to achieve sustainability over time of their productive projects and continue to contribute to the economic and social stabilization of the people who bet on life in legality.
