#Soy Mujer Somos Cambio
(We are Women – We are Change)

This is the name of the strategy built in the territories with the participation of over 80 ex-combatant women and inhabitants of the surrounding communities where the Reincorporation process is taking place. Their stories were told to recognize their rights and heighten their realities, dreams, decisions and convictions in all their diversity.

“We, the women, bring our projects forward together”

On the facade of Esther's house is a hand-painted bird: ‘Paloma’ - Dove, her war-name in the Farc-Ep, and now a symbol of peace. Three years ago, she arrived at the former Territorial Training and Reincorporation Space (ETCR) La Variante, in Tumaco: “I could hardly talk at all”, she recalls. Today, she is a recognized leader in her community.

We sing in unison: #SoyMujerSomosCambio
(I am a Woman, We are Change)

The strategy arises from a community process implemented by ARN and the British Council with its Active Citizens global program, wherein 340 women and men from 10 Colombian municipalities received training with a gender focus on leadership, participation and issues relating to sexual and reproductive rights, among others.
